With our combi boiler ratings, you can cut through all of the sales hype and find the greatest value. We search the technical literature and use our heating system service experience to create our unique rating system. It truly is like taking a repairman with you while you shop!

These ratings are for gas-fired wall hanging units that are of the highest efficiencies. All of the brands have a SEDBUK rating of class A for European brands or an AFUE of at least 90% for American brands.

We have ranked them in three different categories. The first is DIRECT COMBI, these units provide domestic hot water without a tank. The second group, STORAGE COMBI, have a built in storage tank for domestic hot water. The last category, SYSTEM BOILERS, require an external tank for domestic hot water.

We have rated each brand with from 1 to 5 stars. A rating of 5* indicates the brand that we would choose (if it was available) for our home. When more than one brand has a 5* rating, we would choose the brand with the lowest price.

If an N/A appears in the place of stars, it means there is not a product or enough information to rate the brand in that category.

This provides a lot of surface area for heat transfer and therefore rapid recovery. The HEATMASTER series are floor standing units and the PRESTIGE EXCELLENCE series are wall hung units. The PRESTIGE SOLO series units are wall hung system boilers. The guarantee on these units is not very good compared to other brands.
