Biomass Furnace Ratings part 3, Reviews of the St. Croix, Thermo-Control, US Stove, & Woodmaster brands

This brand is manufactured by EVEN TEMP INC. and is available in North America. The REVOLUTION furnace is a unit that can burn grains as well as wood pellets. The unit is self igniting (even when corn is to be used) and self cleaning. The unit starts by igniting the wood pellets and then automatically switches to the selected fuel. The units can be manually controlled or by thermostat. The SCF-050 is a smaller furnace that is designed as an add-on to an existing heating system. The furnaces are backed by a very good guarantee.

These furnaces are available in three sizes and use gasification technology for clean burning. They have a firebrick lined combustion chamber and are backed by a good warranty.

The 8500 model furnace can burn corn, pellets and other biomass. Their website is not much help and does not have a stated warranty policy.<1*

This brand is made by NORTHWEST MANUFACTURING INC. The FORCE 20 burns wood pellets while the FLEXFUEL models burn cordwood and pellets. The FLEXFUEL units are available in two sizes and feature a variable speed induced draft fan and advanced control with a lambda sensor. They are clean burning but the guarantee on the units is not very good.
