The HD 4240 features a huge 42 inch by 36 inch opening for the fire with a clean face design for unobstructed views of the fire. They also offer two models of modern linear fireplaces with open front design but they offer optional glass doors. All of the units use millivolt controls so they will work during a power outage. They feature a damper controlled gas supply system where the gas flow to the unit will shut off if the damper is closed. Their website is not much help and the warranty on the units is not as good as many other choices.
The ASHLAND SERIES and A-SERIES units offer stylish arched unvented fireplaces. They use millivolt controls so they will work when the power goes out but the guarantee on the units is not very good.
The brand is from PROCOM HEATING INC. and is available online through eBay and Amazon as well as their own website.
